The annual yuletide ritual! When I got home, we were going to put the Christmas decorations up, which was fun. We'd inflate balloons. Place a smiling wooden Santa on the Mantelpiece. Adorn the tree. I pondered the task ahead and wondered if Christmas is about Santa, postman dressed as elves, or is it the story of God who has come to rescue-promising to heal the broken, even as he was broken himself? |
