John Afflick Biography

As a child, John Afflick was abused whilst he was in children’s homes. At 14 he was expelled from school, only semi literate, for bludgeoning the woodwork teacher Mr Thompson with a lump of wood. The headmaster, told John’s mother; “Your son is useless, his life will never amount to anything! He will probably end up sleeping in a ditch!”

John became very violent, in one incident he was stabbed and his main arteries were severed and he was left for dead. He has been in ten prisons, and in nine of those prisons he has been locked up in solitary confinement. He has experienced straight jackets, and padded cells! He admits he was both insane and very dangerous!

On the 15th January 1993 he gave his life to Jesus. In his words, “all I ever really wanted in life was to be accepted and loved.” All John did for the next five years was read the Bible day and night! Twelve years later, John created The Glory Story.
